In the Charmed Cafe, a debate broke out over the gender of Piper's first born. In Morality Bites, we were told that it would be a girl: Prudence Melinda. Through Season 5, as the day of birth came ever closer, we were told repeatedly it would be a girl. Then, suddenly, in the Day the Magic Died, we discover that "It's a boy!" Why? This relatively minor issue soon gave way to a larger issue, namely, why Wyatt was so powerful, more powerful than Chris or even Prudence Melinda. Below you will find
Laiste, agreeing with Elder, suggested the following:
I agree, Elder that it is hard to believe that the events of Morality Bites make it hard to accept that something as simple as the sex of Piper and Leos child could change. But I have two comments to make about that. The first is, if you were to draw two straight lines at an angle (even a slight angle) from the point of the events of Morality Bites, obviously the further you go the further apart those two lines become. In that sense i can accept the difference in futures.
My big problem stems from the fact that Wyatt was the subject of at least one prophecy. Are we to accept that in the future of Morality Bites Pipers daughter was actually the twice blessed child? How come Wyatt is the only twice blessed child anyway, considering that Paige and Chris (at least!) were also the offspring of witches and whitelighters? (Just out of curiosity, do half whitelighters have a longer lifespan???) If Wyatt was REALLY the child of those prophecies then his existence should have been one of those asymetrical events that will happen no matter what changes.
This is one of those things that totally screws around with the Charmed Universe. They use time travle alot in Charmed, therefore they should have some kind of logic to those events which change the time continum. I think that no matter how divergent the futures from the point of "morality bites" Wyatts sex should not have changed BECAUSE he was prophecised. Imagining a number line, with Morality Bites as the 0 point- Wyatt was prophecied at point -100; his existence/ sex should not be different at point 20 even with the lessons the sister learn in that lesson. Surely the only reason the Elders interfered at all was because the Charmed Ones were diverging from the path in which the prophecied child (who was foreseen by a GOOD person) would be born. At least as far as i can tell time travel mechanics anyway.
Maracev disputed one of laiste's points as follows:

I don't think Wyatt's status as twice blessed has anything to do with him being the son of a whitelighter and a witch. It's part of it, he is twiced blessed because of it, but it's not what made him as powerful as he was.
Addressing the same quote, whitelightertony opined:

Part of what made Wyatt "twice-blessed" was that he was born during the Wiccan Festival of Lights...and we can probably assume that Melinda from "Morality Bites" wasn't.
Quizzically, laiste shot back:
How does Wyatt's birth during the wiccan festival of lights make him twice blessed? And what exactly did make him so much more powerful than both Chris and Paige for that matter?
