This episode starts out ominously. Christy speaks and warns "They're coming!". This bland statement is repeated throughout the first part of the episode. Unfortunately, whether Christy repeats it, Paige bandies it about or Billie probes, the statement itself is rather dull!
Fortunately, the episode gains traction when Piper, perhaps in her most down-to-earth role ever in Charmed, calmly puts out the burning couch after they come and Christy reveals her firestarter abilities. The hits keep coming when Simon Theodus Reginald Marks orbs in and proclaims his intention of marrying Paige.
Phoebe plays the hapless fool for a bit, as she succumbs to Reggie's flattering. Not only does Phoebe go gaga when Reggie notes that she is "fetching", but she's positively enthused when discovering that the Marks line of witches had worked together with the Warren witches during the Salem witch trials. Paige, the object of affection, objects. In pointed commentary, she pops Sir Full of Himself's bubble, proclaims that she and Reggie are "not now and will never ever be a couple", and defends the honor of Henry, disparaged as a mere mortal by Reggie.
The interrogation of the scather demon by demons unknown convinces us of nothing. Why should it take demons two days to discover that the demon may indeed know nothing? Wouldn't it have been better to focus on the obvious right away? The demons entrusted with the captivity of Christy are in deep trouble apparently. They, the ones who ordered the kidnapping, will not be pleased, or so these demons think.
On the whole, this is a highly entertaining episode that unfortunately ushers in the Ultimate Battle scenario.
