Christy, more obnoxious than ever, seeks to plant even more seeds of doubt about the Charmed Ones by sending Billie on a dream quest in order to find out the true aspirations and motivations of the sisters. Are they protectors of the innocent? Or, are the sisters so obsessed with themselves that they've neglected the greater good and will do nothing to save those in need of protection?

Why, oh why, does putrid punk Mikelle become a whitelighter so quickly? What did she ever do? Second, why on Earth introduce a completely disposable character when Paige's father ought to have saved Paige? Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Maybe he wasn't available that week?
Maybe I'm just selfish myself, but I couldn't see how Billie got the impression the sister were selfish based on their dreams. It even more unforgivable if you think Billie had spent months with them and so should have some idea of where they are coming from.

Scott Jaeck might not have been available. The budget might not have allowed him to return. Or, maybe it didn't dawn on anyone how stupid it would be to create such a silly whitelighter candidate!

Well, all things run in circles it seems. In the Charmed Cafe, a discussion of Paige's powers led to whitelighter issues. Once again, I asserted that Sam ought to have healed Paige in this episode. Again, I noted that budget may have thwarted any such logical resolution of the problem set forth in The Jung and the Restless. Here's the dialogue:
"But in Season 8's, the Jung and the Restless, Paige is attacked by a darklighter who hits her with two poison arrows. Her charge, Mikelle, died while Paige was trapped in Christy/Billie's mind experiment. Once freed by Billie, Paige sought to rescue Mikelle. Only Paige arrived too late, and she too becomes a victim. Holy hokey, the now deceased Mikelle instantly transforms herself into a whitelighter capable of healing Paige.
Now, I know the budget didn't allow for Sam to make a return appearance. But, he's the one who ought to have healed Paige. That might have healed their relationship, too!"
This led drewsgal to observe:
"Ahh, Season 8, i didn't watch much of that Season so I am not that familiar with the episodes. Nah I think they healed there relationship in The Lost Picture Show."
But, vandergraafk noted,
"Well, yes and no. I mean they had already healed the relationship once at the conclusion of Sam I Am. Then, it worsened since Sam dropped off the face of the earth and never bothered to inquire about his daughter. (Of course, she didn't inquire either but then she and her sisters were busy with the Avatars, endless attacks on Wyatt, Gideon, Zankou, faking their deaths and a whole bunch of other stuff.) In the Lost Picture Show, they patched up again. But that patch could have proven as weak as the previous one. An appearance in the Jung and the Restless would have solidified their reconciliation."
Drewsgal demuured, put off as she obviously was by the wonderful actor Scott Jaeck:
"I like seeing Paige with charged, for some reason it makes her more likeable. Well i aint a Sam Fan, so i am pretty glad his scruffy little face didn't make annother apperance."
But, disliking one character is no excuse for creating another perfectly useless character. As vandergraafk responded:
"Yes, but what had Mikelle ever done to justify becoming a whitelighter? Apparently, the only thing I can sense is that the Elders got a tip (from an agent of destiny) that one of the Charmed Ones might die. They arranged for Mikell to become one of Paige's charges and had her become a whitelighter to heal Paige. Holy rank opportunism!"
Worse, vandergraafk continued:
"No, this is one charge we know very little about. She is rescued by Paige from a darklighter attack in a dark alley, reminiscent of the drunken by-ways haunted by the likes of alcohol Sam. At the manor, Mikelle lets on that she probably was a drug-using, alcohol-abusing slacker who hadn't accomplished anything in her short life. She waited in the manor until she made the mistake of venturing outside - despite Paige's warning to remain inside the manor. The darklighter captures her and takes her to his lair in order to set a trap for the bigger prize: Paige!"
