The excellent actress Grace Zabriskie is back to reprise her role as the Crone, first introduced to us in Baby's First Demon (Season 5, Episode 16). Though she has written the rule forbidding demons from messing with baby Wyatt, curiosity gets the better of her. To sense the great power and potential that baby Wyatt will unfurl in the future, the Crone needs to get her hands on the baby. Working with the Kazi king and his minions, whose pain the king viscerally experiences, the Crone crafts a plan that has Kazi minions create a diversion by attacking the Charmed Ones. In the meantime, the Crone calls upon an ancient totem to weaken the ability of the Charmed Ones to defend themselves and protect baby Wyatt from the Crone.
The Charmed Two with Leo take baby Wyatt to his first street fair. Phoebe tags along but is so self-absorbed with a new found success as an advice columnist that she is constantly on her cellphone. She is so oblivious to her surroundings that she doesn't even realize that she has become the attraction, as a mime brutally parodies her cellphone obsession.
A monkey suddenly appears and visits each of the Charmed Ones. Phoebe's ears are covered, Paige's mouth is touched and Piper's eyes are swiped by the monkey. Now, it's only a matter of time till the Charmed Ones are robbed of each of the associated senses at a most critical moment. Phoebe loses her hearing during an executive meeting where plans are presented to take her column nationwide. Paige can't sing when her new beau puts her on the spot in a piano bar. And, Piper loses her sight while driving.
Although the sisters develop the ability to read each other's thoughts absent these basic abilities, this development in their powers is never really advanced in the subsequent history of Charmed. At best, we learn in Once in a Blue Moon (Season 7) that each sister has managed to synchronize their cycles.
