In the Day the Magic Died, we discovered a mysterious appendage dangling from the newest Halliwell. For months we had been led to expect that Piper's first born would be a girl, just as it had been foretold in Season 2's Morality Bites. But, that appendage was no umblical cord. Rather, it was a .... BOY! How did that sit with you, our fanatical Charmed fan?

I hate signing up for accounts, but I decided to just so I could vote in this poll.
Kern's invention of Super Brat was an insult to Connie's original idea of the most powerful magic being in the form of three sisters, decending from a female line. It was shown over and over and over again that the Warren line has been, is, and will be women. As far as I'm concerned, the abomination known as Wyatt was Kern's form of male ego boosting.

I knew, since the season four finale, that Piper's first child was going to be a boy. I remember there being a big fuss over the WB's online promotional ad for season five where it was mentioned that Piper was going to be having a boy. A lot of fans were pissed because a) if it had been true, that whole arc had been spoiled and b) people were upset because of the whole "Melinda" factor of season two's "Morality Bites".
Despite all the references of "my/our daughter" and "my niece", because of that controversial advert in the back of mind I had some supsicion that Piper might be having a boy to insert some "plot twist". So, when the episode aired and Piper gave birth to Wyatt I wasn't all that suprised. Sure, I thought Wyatt should have been a girl but hey, it didn't turn out that way. I have no problem with Piper's first child being a boy instead of a girl. I only have a problem with the fact that Brad claims Wyatt is this all powerful being so that he won't have to face up to the difficulties of having a helpless child on a show where every week some great evil is threatening the main characters. That's what upsets me!
So my vote goes to "Boy, girl, what's the fuss!" ...however, I do wish Kern would have broached another way to have the sisters having a child in their destined, but dangerous lives.

Thanks for the information Reality Bites. As I did not become a Charmed fan until the TNT rebroadcast of Season 5 at 10 pm on Tuesdays, I was unaware of the promotional issue involving the WB before the airing of Season 5. In fact, I didn't even know it aired on the WB until the May finale of Oh My Goddess. "You're so lame, K," Paige sighed in dismay!

I only have a problem with the fact that Brad claims Wyatt is this all powerful being so that he won't have to face up to the difficulties of having a helpless child on a show where every week some great evil is threatening the main characters. That's what upsets me! That is such a copout. Ignoring the fact that Warren magic was supposed to be a "chick thing," according to Charmed during the Burge Era, they could have given him one power, a force field for example. It would've served nicely as a new and interesting power, which also protected him most of the time, but they still could've had creative ways around it, to create drama and show that he was not invincible. (The force field, IMO, should be like Piper's freezing: it may seem the ultimate power at first, but it still has its limitations.) But of course wanted a male prodigy, not a child. Secondly, because he was a boy, he shouldn't have gained any witchy powers at all. Warren magic, as it was repeatedly established very early on, is for female Warrens. Wyatt, if they had wanted to do their twist correctly, should have only had whitelighter powers from Leo, but not witch powers, as he was (clearly) not a female.
