In this gripping account featuring Paige in her capacity as a social worker, a Darklighter from ancient (Roman) days has decided to use a private reform school as a recruiting ground for future Darklighters. Todd Corman, juvenile delinquent extraordinaire, seems to care not a whit about his misdeeds. His cold, cold heart makes him an excellent candidate for future Darklighterdom.
Phoebe, however, receives a premonition. At a time of dusk and fog, Leo is in danger from a Whitelighters arrow. Todd is present, too. Phoebe concludes that Todd is their Innocent to protect. Worried about Leo, Phoebe tries to console Piper by indicating that Leo only has to fear an evening with fog. However, Leo demurs. He suggests that the fog in Phoebe's vision may be akin to a mist. As long as the mist is present in her vision - and any subsequent premonitions - the future is still in flux. But, as the mist fades, the future begins to harden. The Charmed Ones will have less and less opportunity to alter fate as the mist gives way to stone! An exciting book that should be enjoyed by all!
