Paige struggles to fit into the New Power of 3, she feels Prue resents her and Piper is still grief stricken over Phoebe. The only person she can turn to is Leo and she doesn't exactly feel confortable complaining to Piper's husband. With a need to prove herself, Paige gets into a lot of scrapes and constantly has to be bailed out by Prue and Piper. (to be continued) Comments welcome

Piper, Prue and Paige? Interesting! What powers will Paige have?

That is a great question! To keep the prophecy true, Paige would have to inherit the power of premonition if she were to replace Phoebe instead of Prue. Though, it's rather difficult to imagine how psychic powers would factor in with her whiteligher powers. Would she still retain the power to orb if she had premonitions? Orbing seems to be a better match for telekinesis. The difficulty of determining a set of logical powers for a Paige/Phoebe replacement is one of the reasons I've haven't written a fan fic exploring this idea, although I would love to do so eventually.

Orbing seems to be a better match for telekinesis. I actually came up with an alternative power for such a scenario for a fanfic idea I had, which takes place in the "Morality Bites" future after Phoebe is burned at the stake and the Power of Three is reconstituted with Paige. Premonirick Spheres:[/b] In other words, Paige would've had a power similar to The Oracle's of season four, however instead of a crystal ball, Paige's visions would be viewable to her via a white light sphere, like those that Leo created to light up the room in "Just Harried" during his and Piper's wedding. And of course the cue that a premonition was coming would be when the palm of her hand would start to glow white, as opposed to Phoebe's touch and then "freeze up" during a vision. And I think that Paige's whitelighter powers would've conformed a little more towards her witch power, so instead of orbing (which is a moving power and thus works better with the sister who can move things with her mind), I think Paige would've developed healing. In this scenario, it's also possible (IMO) for her to develop whitelighter sensing powers, but they'd be more advanced than those of a whitelighter, because they'd be enhanced by her witch genes and Charmed status (maybe she'd be able to sense in the Underworld, sense evil like in "Size Matters," or just simply be more "in tune" psychically). And while this topic is not about Prue, Phoebe, and Paige, I also have a bit of a theory for if Paige had replaced Phoebe. Temporal Stasis Spheres[/u]:[/b] Just as with my theory for if Paige had replaced Phoebe, I think she still would've developed whitelighter light spheres. Though in this case, she'd have to end up throwing them and upon impact with their intended target, the sphere would absorb into said target and the hit object/person/etc... would freeze. (Unfreezing would of course work the same way, unless she decided to let the frozen thing unfreeze on its own.) And her whitelighter power in this case would be something more molecularly based, leading me to theorize thermokinesis, as demonstrated by Leo in "Secrets & Guys."

Thermokinesis? Let me take this apart. This would mean the ability to change the potential heat energy of an object. Thus, an object that is basically cold could be heated up by what exactly? Something different than heat transfer from a warm object to a cold object? Does this mean that the heat transfer can occur across space without the objects coming into direct contact? Is this what we call Leo's power, used but once, when he offered to reheat Phoebe's tea in Secrets and Guys?
My only objection is the molecular unit of analysis. Nobody, but nobody uses molecules as any acceptable unit of analysis in physics. Chemistry, maybe!!!! What happens is that - at the atomic or even sub-atomic level - particles are excited as energy is absorbed. Their motion increases. This may result in a change in the state of matter: ice melts to form water, water evaporates as steam is formed.

On the Charmed Cafe, I theorized about Paige's powers should she have replaced either Phoebe or Piper in place of Prue.
I saw the thermokinesis connection as well, but I would simply label Leo's one shot power as heat generation. I would guess that the heat generation ability could mutate the particle manipulation ability into thermokinesis as I ascribed it above.

I can see use of the term thermokinesis as an overarching term applicable to both darklighters and whitelighters. In Love Hurts, the darklighter is able to remove heat rapidly from an object. However, as Leo advised, don't let this type of darklighter touch you since contact is required for rapid heat removal. As Leo showed in Secrets and Guys, no contact is needed for the type of heat transference that he is able to perform.
