Season 7 saw the introduction of many "discrepancies" within Charmedverse. It as if the historical memory of the Charmed franchise had been misplaced, forgotten or even lost. In this episode, as Paige makes her valiant atttempt to save Magic School before Odin and the other assembled Elders, she asks where the students would learn to master their magical abilitites if Magic School were closed. Odin puts the onus on Paige and wonders where she learned to master her powers. Put on the spot, Paige - correctly - retorts that she learned to master her abilities with the help of her sisters. However, Paige blunders when she continues with the unjustified assertion that her sisters at least had their mother and grandmother to teach them magic.
As anyone who had seen the first three seasons would have known, nothing could be further from the truth. Grams deliberately withheld all knowledge about witchcraft from the future Charmed Ones and even contemplated stripping them of their powers for all time (Pre-Witched). Mom hardly encouraged the practice of witchcraft among her children during her short life, although an argument can be made that as long as she was alive the children (Piper and Prue) did practice their powers (That 70s Episode). Only after the birth of Phoebe did Grams bind the sisters' powers. Upon the death of Grams, the sisters acquired their powers when Phoebe encants the recitation from the Book of Shadows. Neither Prue nor Piper had any memory of their early childhood practice with magic. Collectively, the sisters had to learn on the fly. Neither Grams nor Mom was around to teach the girls about magic.
