Monica Breen and Alison Schapker present their last Charmed script to fans of the show. This excellent writing team produced several of the finest Charmed episodes since they first appeared in Season 3's Power Outage (Charmed and Dangerous and Sam I Am). Would that they had stayed. Perhaps Season 6 and beyond would not have been such a mess structurally if they had carried on as story editors. In the event, Necromancing the Stone is a truly entertaining episode that features Chris Sarandon as the Necromancer, a ghost of a demon who feeds off of magical beings in order to gain his resurrection. Of course, Armand has a willing helper, a demonic assistant who secures fairies and other magical creatures, so that the Necromancer can be restored to life as a demon.
The prospect that many magical beings from the Warren line of witches will gather at baby Wyatt's wiccaning piques the Necromancer's interest. When he learns that Penny Halliwell, the object of his intense lust before Grams banished him, will preside over the wiccaning makes his heart grow even more excited.
In the meantime, Paige is having boy troubles of her own as Nate, a guy she really likes, needs to be told Paige's secret. She decides to cast a truth spell. She learns that Nate is cool with her being a witch. What she also learns displeases her so much that she has Darryl put him in a holding cell till the spell wears off. Darryl's not too keen to comply with Paige's request until Nate starts insulting the police department. Poor Nate, two-timing boyfriend who has conveniently withheld the fact of his marriage and two children from Paige, manages to piss off the police too.
