Would it matter much if we shoved Leo's birthdate back to 6 May 1919 and have past Leo die sometime before 23 August 1918. Perhaps he died as part of Pershing's American Expeditionary Force? Wouldn't that be ironic?

Another problem with this episode can be found in the teaser segment. Dan asks Leo who is favorite ball player was growing up. Leo's unrehearsed response? Joe DiMaggio. Given that Joltin' Joe was a mainstay of the New York Yankees of the 40s - his career began in 36 and ended in 51 - it is difficult to imagine DiMaggio as Leo's favorite ballplayer. His "grandfather's" maybe. Since Leo grew up in the teens, maybe we could have expected him to say Honus Wagner - or someone from that era. Any such response of that sort would have flummoxed the audience. Joltin' Joe is more widely known. if only for his name, thanks to Simon and Garfunkle, perhaps. Or, maybe it's the fact that Joe DiMaggio still holds the record for the longest hitting streak in baseball, a fact that repeatedly surfaces whenever a current player puts together a lengthy string of games with hits in each. Or, maybe it's the fact that he was once married to Marilyn Monroe. Of course, the writers might have chosen DiMaggio because he hailed from the Bay Area (Martinez, CA). Still, Leo is a peninsula lad. Martinez is in the northeast, a distance away from the city of San Francisco. Whatever the reason: Leo's answer really doesn't make any sense!
