SHANNEN VERSUS ALYSSA « Thread Started on Sept 2, 2008, 12:43am »
It has long been rumored that Shannen's ouster from Charmed had everything to do with her poor relationship with co-star Alyssa Milano. Mum has mostly been the word as one side or the other have downplayed the dispute. Shannen's bad girl reputation, as well as notable run-ins with Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling during BH 90210, however, lent credence to the accusations. In the 8 September 2008 issue of US Weekly, Shannen briefly alludes to to rumors regarding BH 90210. Shannen denied Tori's claim that Shannen and Jenny had ever gotten into a brawl. As Shannen stated, "We never did. I think I would remember Jennie's fist connecting with a part of my body or a part of my face." Yet, on the following page opposite, US Weekly includes a comment by Alyssa: "We definitely didn't get along. I think it's almost like a roommate. If you spend that much time with someone and there are differences anyway, you're not always going to get along."
Of course, the same issue of US Weekly includes a comment from the late Aaron Spelling who sought to downplay the notion that off screen tension between Shannen and Jennie had led to Shannen's ouster from BH 90210. In 1998, Mr. Spelling claimed:
"Shannen didn't do anything wrong. It was the end of the fourth year (of BH 90210). We were only picked up for one more year. She had some things she wanted to do. And the next thing I know, she's the 'bad girl of the world'."
Was something similar going on towards the end of the third year of Charmed?
